Sister Temperance Tarot

I worked with Recspec to create an icon library for their client, Sister Temperance Tarot’s website. They wanted simple - and though it seems counterintuitive, sometimes simpler is harder than complex when it comes to illustrations. Below are the majority of the icons, starting with the Tarot Suits: Cups, Swords, Wands & Pentacles.

Above is the discovery I sent to help narrow down the direction of illustration style. Below are some pages from my sketchbook for this project. I always like to make my initial sketches on paper. They’re usually very rough but it helps me work my ideas out before transferring to digital for refining.
